At Sensoryload, we love staying hydrated and we love our water bottles! There’s a wide selection of water bottles out there, so there’s no need to drink from single-use plastic bottles every day- aside from being ugly, they’re no good for our planet! But with so many options, how do you pick the best water bottle? It really depends on what you’re going to be doing. These are our absolute favourite water bottles after years of use:
For travel – insulated, screw-top water bottles by Klean Kanteen or S’well
Klean Kanteen Classic Stainless Steel Water Bottle with Klean Coat, Single Wall and Leak Proof Loop Cap
The Klean Kanteen is super durable. We have two, they don’t dent and they’re great for travelling with because they are so leakproof. They also have a lifetime guarantee. We recommend the dark black colour in 40oz (just over 1L) because it’s big enough to carry a decent amount of water but not so big that it weighs you down all day. Check out the water bottle on Amazon or at your local stockist.
S’well 17oz (500ml) Stainless Steel Water Bottle
The S’well bottles have smaller capacity but they have a lot more fun in their designs. This size is perfect for a university or school student or for taking along to an exercise class. There are heaps of colours and patterns to choose from to suit your style. Select your favourite from Amazon and read about S’well’s amazing vision and partnership with Unicef on their website.
For simple sipping – flip-bite-sip straw by CamelBak
CamelBak Eddy water bottle in 25oz/750ml size
This is the best everyday drink bottle if you like to sip from the bottle rather than have to tilt your head back. Take this water bottle to the gym, on walks and when running errands in the car, when you don’t want to pause what you’re doing to unscrew your bottle lid. We don’t recommend it for storing inside a backpack – they can leak just a little as there’s nothing to stop the straw from being pushed out by other items in your backpack if it’s not packed in perfectly. So as long as you’re carrying the bottle, or you have an external pocket on your backpack for a drink bottle, then you’re set. We have the aqua blue colour (CamelBak calls it “Rain”) and love it! Check out the colour options for the original range or the new BPA-free range at Amazon.
For a pretty water bottle – go for glass
Contigo’s Purity Bottle with 20oz/600ml capacity
In our opinion, you can’t beat glass for beauty. We like Contigo’s bottles and have one in a mint green silicon sleeve. Glass is heavier, so we prefer to use glass bottles for at-home or office use rather than when we’re out and about. The smoke colour is classy, and will work with most modern office decor, so it would make a great gift for an office worker in your life!
For Infusions – T2 and Takeya water bottles and jugs
T2 Explorer Flask
The Explorer flask is a beautiful way to make iced tea or fruit-flavoured water to take with you on the go. T2 is our favourite tea and tea wares brand. They make the Explorer flask in a variety of colours, so check them out on T2’s website.
T2 Jug-A-Lot
We love our T2 iced tea jug. We almost never make iced tea in it but use it for homemade flavoured water – using fresh mint leaves or citrus slices to make yummy water. Get the small size for two people (if you’re planning on having 1-2 glasses each per day) or the large size if you need more than that! (Also consider your fridge capacity before getting excited about the 1.5L jug). They have both glass and plastic options – We prefer plastic for day to day as we like being able to put it in the dishwasher carefree, but the glass jug is beautiful – depends on how much hand-washing you’re prepared to do!

Takeya Iced Tea Maker
Takeya also make a great infusion jug. Their Iced Tea Maker comes in a massive 2 quart (almost 2L) size so it’s great for flavoured water junkies or for the whole family.
